Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
When is the best time to visit Cappadocia?
Cappadocia is a year-round destination. However, Spring (April to June) and Autumn (September to November) offer the most pleasant weather for hiking and balloon flights. Winter is magical with snow, though some outdoor activities may be limited by the cold.
How many days should I stay?
To experience the highlights (Red and Green tours) and have a buffer day for a hot air balloon flight (in case of weather cancellations), we recommend staying at least 3 days and 2 nights.
Are hot air balloon flights safe?
Absolutely. All flights are regulated by the Turkish Civil Aviation Authority (SHGM). Pilots are highly trained, and flights only take off when wind and weather conditions are 100% safe. As a 25-year veteran, I only partner with the most reliable flight schools.
What happens if my balloon flight is canceled?
If the flight is canceled due to wind or weather, you will receive a 100% full refund. If you have an extra morning, we will try to reschedule your flight for the following day, subject to availability.
Why should I book a private tour instead of a group tour?
A private tour offers flexibility. You can spend as much time as you like at a specific site, skip places you’ve seen before, and choose where to eat. Most importantly, you get the undivided attention of a senior guide.
Do you provide tours in languages other than English?
Yes. Through our professional network, we provide senior licensed guides fluent in Japanese, Spanish, and other major languages. Please note that non-English tours involve a “language supplement fee” to ensure the highest quality of service.
Why are lunch and entrance fees excluded from private tours?
After 25 years of guiding, I’ve learned that guests value freedom. Instead of forced tourist buffets, I recommend local hidden gems or fine dining based on your taste. Excluding entrance fees also allows you to use a “Museum Pass Turkey” if you already have one.
Is Cappadocia safe for solo or female travelers?
Cappadocia is one of the safest and most welcoming regions in Turkey. The local community is very hospitable. As your local guide, I am always a phone call away should you need any assistance during your stay.
What should I wear for the tours and activities?
Balloons: Even in summer, it’s chilly at sunrise; bring a light jacket.
Tours: Comfortable walking shoes are a must for the valleys and underground cities.
General: Modest clothing is recommended when visiting active mosques, but standard casual wear is fine for all other sites.
How do I get to Cappadocia from the airport?
There are two main airports: Kayseri (ASR) and Nevsehir (NAV). We can arrange private luxury transfers from either airport directly to your hotel to ensure a stress-free arrival.
